Constructed in the mid 1800s, the lighthouse now serves as a long-standing symbol of the Town of Jupiter. The landmark is on the National Register of Historic Places. Along with a museum, the lighthouse now allows public tours. The Town of Jupiter also serves as the spring training grounds for the Miami Marlins and the St. Louis Cardinals, along with serving as the home of two minor league baseball teams. Other notable attractions include the Palm Beach International Raceway, located just west of the Town of Jupiter. The racetrack hosts a number of motorsports throughout the year. The community is also the home of the Florida History Center and Museum. In addition, Jupiter features miles of incredible Florida beaches. Many area parks include access ramps to the Intracoastal, as well as contain various outdoor recreational opportunities for families, including tennis courts basketball courts and soccer fields. Boating and sailing are big draws along the water, and the area has some fantastic locations for parasailing, windsurfing and waterskiing. With both the Atlantic Ocean and the Loxahatchee River nearby, there are also various opportunities for fishing. The Riverwalk runs along the Intracoastal, from the Jupiter Ridge Natural Area to the Jupiter Inlet. The Kravis Center for the Performing Arts is a fantastic location in West Palm Beach to enjoy the ballet, opera and live theatre throughout the year.
