Thousands of people flock to the area of Wellington each year to take part in the competitions, and observe some of the best equestrian events. Wellington is regarded as the winter equine capitol of the world. On the other end of the spectrum, the beautiful beaches of South Florida are less than a half hour drive from Wellington. Enjoy miles of white, sandy beaches while taking part in boating, fishing and diving in the area. Palm Beach County is also home to dozens of public parks. More than 30 of those parks are within the boundaries of the Village of Wellington. As well, there are more than 150 private and public golf courses in the county. Nearby West Palm Beach provides additional options for homeowners, like the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts. The venue hosts the opera, the ballet, and live theatrical productions throughout the year. The Norton Museum of Art, also in West Palm Beach, is one of the largest art museums in the area, and not far from Wellington.
